Week 36

This week started off great!  We played Word A Melon a lot which is a super fun game for beginning readers!  We also worked on the garden some more and got the week block down and mulch put down on top of that.

Eli mowed his grandparents lawn and did a great job.  He also started a new book called Johnny's Backyard.  We rotate reading pages as he still really doesn't like reading on his own and prefers listening to audiobooks.  He worked on his math quite a bit and is using musical multiplication to help learn his times tables a lot better.  He did his usual handwriting along with scripture dictation every day.

Ivy worked on counting lots of money this week as part of her math.  She is also learning multiplication with a new musical multiplication activity we had.  She's really enjoying it. She finished a couple of lessons in her reading lessons, did her handwriting and did a lot more dictation.

All the kids worked on Tech this week where we made presses out of their kiwi crates.  They were very simple and they used paint on the image that they'd then press onto paper.

For PE, we did a lot of jumping and riding around outside.  We also went camping where we did LOTS of hiking along with some paddle boat time and a lot of outdoor play.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this in a past post but we finished reading the book Sweep a couple of weeks ago and absolutely LOVED IT!!!!  We're now reading A Horse and His Boy from the Chronicles of Narnia series!

Eli and Ivy helped get the garden started this week.  Emmitt helped a little with shoveling dirt into the ranger so we could transport to our raised bed.
