Week 16
This week hit us hard with sickness :(. Everyone had a round accept Dirk (thank goodness)! I had the hardest time recovering because I had quite a few sleepless nights, especially when the baby was sick (for like four nights)! Thankfully, the worst appears to be behind us and we are back on track!!! Thank goodness!!! We will still had a decently productive week, although I know a few things got lost in our late mornings.
Math - We really did quite a bit of math this week. Eli started on division and continued with multiplication and larger addition problems. Ivy did quite a bit of number copy work and is learning money symbols and counting money. Emmitt worked on counting items and then identifying the associated number and writing it. I really encouraged him to write his numbers even if they don't look perfect. He's getting a lot better about that (he has a perfectionist side to him).
Language Arts - Eli worked mainly on handwriting and did lots of reading. We just got his new language arts book so we are starting on that this next week. Ivy worked on her readings in her reading book and we reviewed flashcards along with her handwriting. We didn't do anymore official lessons in her All About Reading, but we will begin again next week. Emmitt worked on his kindergarten book with writing letters, sounding them out and doing picture finds. We also started reading A Single Shard together... I think it's a little too advanced as Eli is the only who seems to really grasp the story so far. We also started George Marvelous Medicine... it's a short read, but so far ALL the kids love it!! It's super silly humor.
History - This week we learned more about the Westward Expansion at our Commonwealth. Ivy and Emmitt were to sick to attend so they missed out, but Eli was able to be there. I did talk to them about it once we got home though so they still got a little dose.
PE - WE missed Gym class this week due to so many of having the flu :(.
Tech - The kids helped edit videos in iMovie. They took pictures and videos and then we put them in iMovie to edit them. We were pretty chill this week since we weren't feeling good, but everyone has a new Kiwi Crate waiting to be opened!
