Week 32

Well, we had a great week overall, although I didn't feel very well.

Eli did his math and is on lesson 23.  He's getting into more division and writing out larger numbers (millions).  He picks up new concepts very quickly.  His language arts is going well although he doesn't like to read very much at all.  He LOVES listening to his audiobooks, but his new curriculum has him reading more each day, which is tough for him, be he still does it.  He's also doing good with his Mavis Beacon typing program.

Ivy is focusing on math and is learning perimeters right now.  She's on lesson 42 of her reading lessons and is doing good. She gave a talk in church on Sunday and I was so proud of her.  She could read most of the words in the talk we wrote, but there were a few that she didn't know.  She was able to memorize the words she didn't know read her talk flawlessly!

Emmitt had fun doing school this week this week.  He's continually getting more familiar with his letters and sounds.  He has only 3 lessons left in his language arts book and then we'll move into his next level which is a bit more aggressive with learning to read.  I'm sure he can totally handle it.

Our Commonwealth was fantastic!  Eli and Ivy worked on an art project and then they studied the constitution.  They're getting to know the basics and this week they acted out Congress putting in a new law, the President approving it and then the Supreme Court interpreting it and enforcing it.  We also discussed the Smollet case and how the FBI is going to go after him on the ICC (Interstate Commerce Clause).

We also went swimming an had lots of fun!!!

And Eli participated in the Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts.  He worked hard on his car with his dads help.  Lots of sanding, painting and weighing, etc. I did the final paint 🎨 job to make the shark face.  He took 2nd overall.
