Week 30
We have had so much fun getting outside since we've been having warmer weather! Our backyard is such a great space with a trampoline, a large cement pad where we can play basketball or ride our wiggle cars, and also the kids ride their bikes around!
Our morning time has been going wonderfully! We do our hymn, prayer and pledge. Whoever does the prayer leads the pledge and it starts with Eli on Monday, Ivy on Tuesday, Emmitt Wednesday, Erik Thursday and mom on Friday. Then we do our New Testament study with the Come Follow Me curriculum and then we do our poetry memorization. This week's poem starts out ...
"Little Drops of Water
Little Grains of Sand
Make the Mighty Ocean
And the Pleasant Land..."
Then we usually go into history, science or art. This week we discussed the Constitution and worked on memorizing the 7 Articles in the Constitution. We played a passing game where they had
Eli is reading Johnny Tremain with his dad. They love it! We've been discussing the Revolutionary War a little more since that is the time period. Eli has also been doing his language arts which is focused right now on increasing his reading comprehension and vocabulary. He's reading a lot. He also has continued his math and handwriting every day.
Ivy is doing well with her reading lessons and her practice reading. She's on lesson 39 of her reading lessons (out of 53) so making progress! She listens to her audio books a lot (The Penderwicks) while she draws art pictures or plays with slime or play dough. Her math is coming along also and she did her handwriting this week (mainly writing her spelling words from her reading lessons).
Emmitt did his language arts lessons which is mainly practicing writing a few letters and practice reading. He also has his fun kindergarten book which is writing letters and sounding them out and then doing some type of puzzle and picture find. He has been going to his commonwealth classes and participating really well.

We walked over to see grandma and grandpa's bunny rabbits and hold them. They are so cute!
