Week 25

Math - Eli worked on his math every day this week.  He's become more independent with his math and gets it done first thing in the morning as part of his morning routine.  He also worked on his division flashcards with me.  He does really good with his math.  Ivy worked on her math pages this week.  She's working on adding multiple digit numbers like 45+13=.  It's pretty easy for her.  She still writes her 6's and 5's backwards a lot, but I'm sure that'll come with time.  Emmitt worked on his numbers 1-10... he's getting better at writing them.  We all played UNO a few times.

Language Arts - Eli had it pretty easy with Language Arts this week since we're waiting for his new curriculum to arrive.  He did his handwriting every day.  It's been interesting because he usually writes with his left hand, but decided this week he wants to write with his right hand.  He has mixed dominance, which means he doesn't actually have a dominant hand.  Anyway, we'll see where this goes.  He listened to a lot of Audiobooks and continued reading The Mysterious Benedict Society.  Ivy worked on her Reading Lessons.  She's on 31 of her All About Reading lesson.  She doesn't like to push herself very hard so it's challenging getting her to read the harder words.  She's coming along though.  She also worked on her handwriting.  She writes spontaneous notes a lot, which are all quite sweet along with her handwriting book.  Emmitt did his lessons with Bronson.  Bronson's mom is working full time now so we do lessons over at our house two times per week now.

History - We continued our study of Christopher Columbus this week.  He was very righteous, brave, courageous and also a natural leader.

PE - We all went swimming two days in a row in Layton, UT at our hotel.  The kids had a blast, although I think Eli's skin reacted a bit to the chlorine as he got a bunch of weird rash spots on his hand.

Tech - This week we headed up to Layton, Utah early Friday morning and stayed at the Hilton Hotel.  Before we checked in, we went to the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium which was AMAZING!!!
The kids all Loved it!  We got see the sharks, stingrays, penguins and so many other cool fish!  Wishing we lived a little bit closer so we could go there more.
