Dirk goes for a flight

Dirk went up to help at a conference in Pocatello last week for Healer's Library.  He drove up to Provo to pick up our new dining table and then dropped his truck at Carmon's house and rode with his co-worker David to the Airport.  Brad and Jean were there and Brad flew them all up to Pocatello!  They went out to sushi and and stayed at a nice hotel.  Dirk had a great time!!!  Sure wish I could've gone with him haha... another time I suppose.  It's so so cool that Uncle Brad has his own plane and can fly around wherever he needs to go!  Dirk sat up front in on there way to Pocatello and said it looked so complex... I don't think either of us will ever be pilots!  Kudos to him and my brother John!⇦

Week 25

Math - Eli worked on his math every day this week.  He's become more independent with his math and gets it done first thing in the morning as part of his morning routine.  He also worked on his division flashcards with me.  He does really good with his math.  Ivy worked on her math pages this week.  She's working on adding multiple digit numbers like 45+13=.  It's pretty easy for her.  She still writes her 6's and 5's backwards a lot, but I'm sure that'll come with time.  Emmitt worked on his numbers 1-10... he's getting better at writing them.  We all played UNO a few times. Language Arts - Eli had it pretty easy with Language Arts this week since we're waiting for his new curriculum to arrive.  He did his handwriting every day.  It's been interesting because he usually writes with his left hand, but decided this week he wants to write with his right hand.  He has mixed dominance, which means he doesn't actually have a dom...

Week 37

Eli's math is coming along great!  He has 12 lessons to go in his math book and his doing great!  He already knows multiplication but the musical multiplication program I got for him is really helping him get to where he can say the answers faster.  He wrote quite a few stories this week and did really well.  He's still reading "A Yard for John" with me... we're progressing slower then I'd like, but hopefully this week or next he'll be done. Ivy got a couple of math lessons done and is also progressing well with musical multiplication.  She has 5 more lessons in her Reading Lessons so hopefully we can wrap up this book in the next 2 weeks.  She did a lot more dictation this week which is so good for her confidence! Week 33-34

We got to go do a super fun Easter Egg hunt that our good friends the Shipp's do every year!  My kids walk away with so much candy and fun stuff!!  It's definitely a highlight of the year!   We also got new baby ducks and 6 baby chicks so we've been having lots of fun taking care of them.  The ducks have been living in our bathtub for a couple of weeks and we moved them out to the chicken's house this weekend.  They seem to be doing good out there with a heat lamp.  Everyone has been helping, which is great!!  It's nice to have the kids know what to do and be able to go check water and food.  We already get about 4-6 eggs per day from our hens so it'll be fun to be getting more when our baby chicks are bigger (still another 4-5 months away).
